Candidates for City Council Positions 1 and 2 and Mayor may file an application for a place on the May 2, 2026 ballot during the designated filing period from January 14 - February 13, 2026. City Secretarys Office hours are from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Candidate Filing Info

The Mayor and each member of the City Council shall have the following qualifications:

• Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
• Have resided within the city and the territory from which the office is elected for at least twelve (12) months immediately preceding Election Day;
• Meet all other eligibility requirements of the Texas Election Code Texas Election Code (Title 9, Chapter 141)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            After Qualifications Are Met:

The following forms should be completed and turned into the City Secretary’s Office, 680 Crystal Farms Rd., Tatum, TX, 75691.  If mailed, any forms will be considered received on the date received in the City Secretary's Office.
